Shelter Aid
In our facility 91 Elders (66 male and 25 female) are currently getting full shelter and clothing aid. These beneficiaries are also provided with personal cleaning materials. Their residential rooms and clothing are also regularly cleaned. These group includes 6 sight impaired and 5 physical disabled people.
Food Aid
The food aid program provides three meals per day for 91 inmates (66 male and 25 female) and additional 20 elders (17 male and 3 female) which live outside the facility. The continuity of the program was realized through donations made by the social affairs bureau, DD food complex, and individual donors like you.
Medical Aid
There are 91 elders (25 female and 66 male) benefiting from the health program. This program is made possible because of a collaboration made with Dil Chora Hospital and the Red Cross. Asegedech Asfaw AARO covers the expenses for the drugs while the hospital and Red Cross facilitate the diagnosis and treatment.
Physiotherapy/ Ceragem
A physiotherapy and ceragim service is provided to members of the facility. Since most elder members pass most of their time in bed, the physiotherapy and ceragem has helped them in relaxing strained muscles and nerves.
Financial Aid
The financial aid program encompasses 20 elders ( 1 male and 19 female) who have their own shelter but are unable to generate their own income. A monthly payment of 200 Birr is made to each member of the program.
Income Generation
Cattle Farm
The cattle farm assist the facility in generating income by selling milk to the public. Additionally the elders living in the facility are served with milk which is produced in the cattle farm.
Fruit Farm
The fruit farm in the facility produces orange, lemon and vinegar fruit which are sold to the public and generate income. The fruits are also served to the inmates.
